Case Study – Sports Professionals
James Irons is a golf professional who works in Chiswick, West London. He has been working there now for around six years and is an established golf teacher.
Because of the location he was lucky enough to be getting regular clients coming through the door but felt he could be doing a lot more – not only to get new clients but to interact more with current clients and keep them coming back. He also wanted to be found online and understood that this was the way forward.
He approached us around 18 months ago regarding building him a website which he could be proud of and also a Facebook, Twitter and YouTube page.
He invited us around to his house in Brentford and we sat down and talked him through what we thought would help him generate more business, asked him what his budget was and told him what we could offer.
What we suggested and have achieved
After we did our research we decided to build his website around the search terms ‘golf lessons west London’ and ‘golf tuition west London’. This was based on the fact that these search terms were being searched for around 200 times a month locally on Google. This might not seem like a lot but if you were converting 10% of that traffic then this equates 20 new enquiries a month!
So we got the site up and running, optimised it to the search terms we agreed on and built the Facebook and Twitter pages which also linked to the website and vice versa. We also made him a YouTube channel and embedded video on his website to really give his website a boost up the rankings.
We also suggested that we write a daily blog for him which was the key to getting his site ranked where it is today as Google loves a site that is being updated with fresh new content regularly. Leave a site stagnant at your peril!
So with regular blogging, social media updates and some clever optimisation we have managed to get him on page one of Google, but not only page one, he is Number One and is reaping the benefits.
The other great thing about this is that he works for golf club underneath him on page one!
